I appreciated myself, because I got to realize that I am able and I have dreams,
My name is M. Francoise, I am 14 years old. I was born with physical impairment; my leg has a problem. The first time I heard about guiding was when Her World voice project
started in our school (GS Bunyenga). I was 11 years old. I felt like joining but because most of the time, they were dancing, having fun, I thought I couldn't make it because of the impairment I have. Until the time my troop leader approached me and asked me to join, I came and became a member of the troop. The time I reached there, everything was far away from my expectations, we learnt so many things that boosted my self-confidence, I love myself, because I got to realize that I am able and I have dreams. In my guiding troop, I have never felt lonely, and I have never been discriminated.
Without hesitating then, I became a full member in guiding and I was really happy on the day for enrollment. This program brought change in my life as a student with a disability. I wish every girl could have a chance to be part of this programme”
