EEE for All Girls
The World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) , Generation Unlimited (GenU) and UNICEF’s U-Report have come together with support of The UPS Foundation to give girls and young women from underrepresented backgrounds a voice by ensuring that they can make an impact in their communities and that their voices are counted and heard.
The UPS grant is awarded to AGR as part of the overall WAGGGS Equity, Empowerment and Engagement for all girls (EEE) 2020-2022 in Rwanda.
EEE project in Rwanda has the following objectives:
- Equipping girls and young women with the means to improve their own socio-economic conditions and ties everlasting friends.
- Encouraging positivity and changing negative attitude regarding stereotypes, violence and exploitation vis-à-vis girls with disabilities
- Enabling young women become the voice and advocate for issues that affect girls within their communities.
AGR will deliver the project in Western Province by establishing Guiding in primary and secondary schools (3 primary schools and 3 secondary schools). Each troop will recruit at least 10% of girls with disabilities. The purpose of this social mobilization is to ensure inclusion of girls with disabilities in other educational settings and community work conducted by the troop.
